PDG was responsible for the re-design of the license rights management component of Tuscany, Fox's flagship contract management system, and installed PDG’s Conflict Check & Avails Engine (CCAE) application suite to manage Fox's multi-billion-dollar distribution business and provide near real time contract validation and availability reporting. Additionally, enterprise messaging services were implemented to connect product, rights, release and scheduling metadata throughout the organization.

PDG installed and supports its cloud-based CCAE software in its version 3 deployment. PDG also designed, deployed and supports the Event-Driven Kafka Integration Backbone used for near real time asynchronous communication between TV distribution and corporate data systems.

PDG designed and oversaw a complete re-architecture of the DIRECTV satellite advertising platform which targets custom advertisements to subscribers of both their traditional satellite service and over-the-top (OTT) streaming services. This re-design resulted in a greater than 2-fold increase in the number of targeted ads to customers and reduced the required lead time to play out a targeted ad from 24 hours to under 4 hours, thereby enabling DIRECTV to enter the advertising interconnect managed by Comcast/NCC and doubling DIRECTV's yearly advertising revenue.

PDG also designed and developed two critical applications in the advertising platform and built real-time alerting and reporting dashboards used by the 24/7 advertising operations teams. PDG continues to lead incremental architectural changes for the satellite platform and is also assisting in architecting the next-generation advertising platform for streaming services such as DIRECTV NOW.

Finally, PDG has played a major role in architecting and designing DIRECTV's NFL Sunday Ticket platform which provides premium NFL programming to DIRECTV satellite subscribers and over-the-top streamers via the NFL Sunday Ticket app.

Domestic and International TV Distribution

PDG redesigned and re-platformed CBS’ existing suite of Domestic and International TV Distribution applications servicing CBS' entire catalog of TV episodic and filmed content to better manage, identify, and exploit new sales opportunities and increase revenues. Licensing modules were redesigned to support emerging non-linear over-the-top (OTT) distribution channels and the Avails module was extended to service availability reporting for complex license carve-outs, holdbacks, and catch-up rights. PDG owned and managed the design, development, testing, and implementation of all new and upgraded application components.

TV Operations

PDG oversaw project management, business analysis, and application architecture for the design and development of a new Media Purchase Order (MPO) application servicing delivery of digital and physical assets to CBS's exhibitors. This application integrates with CBS's Product and Asset Management systems and an Oracle Financials backend.

Jafra has embarked on a full top-to-bottom digital and technology transformation project to implement best of breed 21st century ERP technologies to bring them into the digital age. Using a full SAP stack starting with their eCommerce website & mobile apps through to outbound logistics and everything in between, Jafra engaged PDG to provide SAP solution architecture, project management, and develop a custom Business Intelligence (BI) Data Warehouse using Microsoft's SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS reporting stack. The BI solution also sources data to Jafra's mobile application supporting over 50,000 external consultants

TV Project Data Warehouse

PDG provided project management and functional and technical design for the TV Production Data Warehouse (DW) which provides consolidated cost and budget data from SAP and three external production accounting systems (Entertainment Partners, Cast and Crew, and Ease Accounting). The Data Warehouse provides automation for numerous finance processes including the Production Recap (budget and forecast) Consolidation and Reporting process for over 100 users across all TV productions providing visibility to up-to-date forecasts through reports and executive dashboards. PDG also designed and managed the development of web and mobile based Microstrategy production budget executive dashboards

Integrated Right Information System (IRIS)

PDG provided Project Management, design, and development services for the implementation of a Rich Text Editor into NBCU's Enterprise Rights application for the Corporate Legal Rights Group

Working closely with key executives and members of Sony Pictures Television’s (SPT) international offices, PDG designed and developed the Revenue Pipeline Management (RPM) suite of applications which integrate SPT’s existing sales & distribution systems into a custom data warehouse and forecasting system.  The application modules include robust worldwide budgeting, financial forecasting, contract entry, and complex availability reporting for all existing and emerging television media.

RPM dramatically improves SPT’s ability to forecast and maximize Television distribution revenue by reducing the time to generate a worldwide sales budget and forecast and provide sales people and senior management with more accurate and timely information. This system handles all aspects of licensing, availability, customer, fee and shipping information for 300,000+ titles and thousands of deals concurrently across all major media platforms in a real-time performant system.

RPM is used by hundreds of sales planners and finance users worldwide and was selected by SPE’s Information Technology department as “Application of the Year” in 2013. Since RPM’s launch, PDG continues to work with SPT to improve and extend functionality via continuous analysis and requirements gathering, technical design, software development services, and 24/7 worldwide application support.

PDG is providing support for STX's BPC application which performs film, television, digital, and home entertainment P&L forecasting on both a cash and accrual basis. As a new and rapidly growing company, STX Entertainment found an immediate need to implement a robust financial management application and selected SAP S4 Hana and BPC to fulfill their financial accounting, forecasting, and consolidations needs.
